Plug Power Inc. has announced a postponement of its upcoming special shareholder meeting. Originally scheduled for mid-January, the event has been moved to a new date: January 29, 2026. This two-week delay coincides with the establishment of a new record date for voting eligibility, with management citing a specific operational reason for the change.
The hydrogen technology firm stated that the rescheduling is intended to provide shareholders additional time to recall loaned shares from their brokers. Shareholders of record as of December 12, 2025, will be entitled to vote at the reconvened meeting. To facilitate this process, the company plans to file an updated proxy statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This move underscores the importance management places on the meeting's agenda items and its desire to maximize voter turnout.
Securing Strategic Contracts
Alongside this administrative update, Plug Power reported two significant operational developments. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has awarded the company a contract valued at $2.8 million. Under this agreement, Plug Power will supply up to 218,000 kilograms of liquid hydrogen to two Ohio-based research facilities: the Glenn Research Center in Cleveland and the Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky. This marks the first direct supply contract of its kind between Plug Power and the U.S. space agency.

Separately, in France, the company has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Hy2gen. The agreement involves supplying a 5-megawatt PEM electrolyzer for the Sunrhyse project in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The project's objective is to produce RFNBO-certified green hydrogen for industrial applications and the mobility sector in southern France.
Market Performance and Analyst Outlook
Plug Power's shares experienced a decline of approximately 25% during November 2025 but have shown signs of modest stabilization since the beginning of December. In a recent assessment, the research firm H.C. Wainwright reaffirmed its "Buy" rating on the stock, maintaining a price target of $7.00—a figure substantially above the current trading level. The firm's positive stance is predicated on the potential within Plug Power's project pipeline, contingent on the company maintaining control over its capital structure.
Attention now turns to December 12, 2025, which serves as the definitive record date for determining shareholder voting rights at the rescheduled meeting.
