- January 2026 sales: 34,867 vehicles, up 1.0% year over year
- Market share: 52% (January 2025: 56%)

Competitive dynamics intensify
Astra?s total deliveries for the month stood at 34,867 units, barely above the previous-year tally of 34,531. By comparison, the Indonesian auto market expanded to 66,446 vehicles in the same period, trimming Astra?s market share from 56% a year earlier to 52%.
Toyota and Lexus continued to underpin the group?s volume, combining for 20,127 units, with Daihatsu next at 12,513. The company remains a strong player in the affordable, clean-energy segment (LCGC), securing a 68% share there. Nevertheless, rivals are pressing harder: Mitsubishi moved 9,230 units, while the BYD?Denza alliance contributed 5,271 units, intensifying pressure on the market leader.
Diversification and external recognition
Beyond autos, Astra earned a notch on TIME Asia Pacific?s Best Companies list for 2026, a recognition announced two days ago. At the same time, the conglomerate furthers its diversification push. Through the Desa Sejahtera Astra initiative, the group recently expanded exports of bio-palm sugar to international markets, including Malaysia, Australia, and the Netherlands, signaling broader revenue diversification beyond cyclical vehicle demand.

Key date for investors: February 25
February 25 marks a pivotal date for investors. The ongoing share repurchase program, with a ceiling of up to 2 trillion IDR, concludes on that day as part of market stability and capital-management efforts.
Concurrent with the buyback, the audited full-year 2025 results are expected to be released. The report will illuminate how the group navigated fluctuating commodity prices and shifting consumer demand across its Financial Services and Infrastructure segments. The outcome is expected to heavily influence how the market values Astra?s future earnings trajectory as a diversified conglomerate.
