Exploration firm Apex Critical Metals has reported a significant geological discovery at its wholly-owned Lac Le Moyne project in Nunavik, Québec. The findings, derived from a July 2025 program, confirm the presence of niobium and rare earth elements (REE), potentially marking a turning point for the company's shares following a recent market correction.

The company moved swiftly to secure the prospective area, staking 77 additional claims to cover geophysical anomalies in full. This paves the way for a targeted follow-up exploration campaign during the 2026 field season, designed to quantify the discovery's full scale. To fund these ongoing efforts, Apex had previously secured C$10 million in fresh capital through a private placement in October 2025.

Despite this operational progress, the company's stock has faced headwinds. Shares are currently trading at €1.22, reflecting a decline of approximately 30% over the past month. Market observers are now assessing whether the new fundamental data can establish a foundation for recovery.

A Notable Carbonatite Discovery

The recent work represented the first targeted search for carbonatite on the property, with 151 rock samples collected. Laboratory results surpassed expectations, indicating a previously unknown mineralized system. Notably, the elevated grades do not align with historically mapped outcrops, leading geologists to postulate the existence of an additional, potentially buried carbonatite source.

Key assay highlights include:
* Niobium Grades: Four samples returned over 0.20% Nb₂O₅, with peak values reaching 0.40%.
* Rare Earth Elements: Thirteen samples exceeded 0.25% total rare earth oxides (TREO), with a highest value of 0.50%.
* New Zone: A north-south trending mineralization corridor was identified in the northeastern section of the property.

CEO Sean Charland emphasized the discovery's importance, noting that only about 600 such carbonatite systems are known globally. The project's location is also strategically advantageous, situated north of the established, high-grade Eldor complex.

Broader Project Portfolio

Beyond the Lac Le Moyne project, Apex is advancing its portfolio elsewhere. In the United States and British Columbia, drilling programs conducted in 2025 had already confirmed significant niobium intercepts, underscoring the company's focus on critical metals development across multiple jurisdictions.
